Brianna S.
Brianna grew up near the coast of North Carolina in a town called Bath and relocated to Greenville, NC to attend East Carolina University. At ECU she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degree. She originally planned to pursue a career as a Child Life Specialist but soon discovered her passion for the field of communication sciences and disorders.
While attending ECU, Brianna gained hands-on clinical experience with the pediatric and adult populations in a variety of settings including ECU’s Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic, a Cleft Palate Imaging and Visualization Lab, local elementary schools, a private practice, and experience as a clinical fellow. Throughout these experiences, she’s had the opportunity to gain skills evaluation and providing treatment for a variety of communication diagnoses including language delays/disorders/articulation and phonological delays/disorders, fluency, autism spectrum disorder, dysarthria, feeding/swallowing disorders, and cognitive-communicative deficits resulting from traumatic brain injury, aphasia, dementia, and strokes. Brianna is very passionate about working with pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders and looks forward to growing in this field.
Apart from being a speech-language pathologist, Brianna’s favorite things to do are traveling to new places with family and friends, being out on the water, reading, and going to exercise classes.
