Cassie L.

Cassie has a passion for working with children and their families. She wants to empower families to shape the lives they want to have. Cassie loves working with kids of any age and specializes in helping children work through depression, anxiety, trauma, and ADHD. Cassie is passionate about supporting caregivers with challenging behaviors at home. Cassie has experience working with children and families in schools and outpatient therapy settings.  On weekends, Cassie can be found going on long walks with her dog and exploring new things to do in Charlotte.

Mallory S.

Mallory grew up in the Troutman area and moved back to the area recently from Raleigh. She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a bachelor’s degree in studio art and a minor in art therapy. She received her master’s in art therapy from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in 2015 and has been practicing art therapy with various populations in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham since then with the NC Art Therapy Institute. Mallory is married to her high school sweetheart and has a daughter and two dachshund dogs. Her therapeutic approach is multi-modal, strength based and emphasizes the healing power of art. She loves painting, traveling, and being outdoors.

Rachel M.

Rachel has been working with children and their families since graduating from Appalachian State University in 2015. She has a passion for empowering families to grow together. Rachel loves working will all kids and specializes in treating behavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, social skill building and assisting parents respond to these behaviors effectively. Rachel has experience working with children and families in the hospital, school, and in home therapy settings. Rachel believes that growth comes from understanding, encouragement, and supporting the whole child. On weekends Rachel can be found visiting the mountains or snuggling her two dogs, Watson and Mazie.

Stephanie V.

Stephanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Masters in Social Work from the JMSW program in Greensboro NC and Bachelors in Social Work from Appalachian State University. She has experience in supporting children who have experienced trauma, the neurodivergent population, and those that are still learning how to navigate all the twists and turns of life as a kid. Stephanie believes the importance of meeting each person where they are in that moment and that therapy is not a one size fits all approach. You can find Stephanie mostly using play therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, social skills training, cognitive behavioral therapy, and incorporating sensory play.

Jacob S.

Jacob has been working with children and families since receiving his master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2019.  Jacob has experience helping clients work through and resolving life’s difficulties like trauma.  He’s worked with people across the lifespan and believes in teaching clients how trauma is stored in the brain and body so that they can be healed.  Jacob also works with those having difficulty managing symptoms of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and behavioral problems. He is skilled at helping families find their strengths to help assist in creating connection and structure, helping educate about human development, emotion regulation strategies, and conflict resolution.
Outside of Counseling, Jacob likes to spend time with friends, play sports, gardening and is actively involved in church with the student ministry. When he was a teenager, he received counseling, and it changed his life. After that, he received a calling on his life to do the same for others. He loves meeting new people and can’t wait to meet you!
