Tasha R.

Tasha received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2020 and then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University in 2023. Tasha completed a clinical rotation working in the school systems while at Western Carolina and has had experience working in an outpatient pediatric clinic setting, working with patient populations including torticollis, gait abnormalities, orthopedic injuries, pre- and post- surgical rehabilitation, developmental delays, and neurological diagnoses. She has a passion for advocating for her patients and their families to achieve a greater wellbeing and quality of life. In her free time, Tasha enjoys running, baking, or hanging out with her family, friends, and her dog!

Katie W.

Katie started working at PAT in August 2024 after graduating from East Carolina University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has always enjoyed working with kids and her passion for the pediatric population continued to grow throughout physical therapy school. During school, she worked in a clinical research lab focused on pediatric rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy. She completed her pediatric clinical rotation in Charlotte where she worked with kids with various neurological and musculoskeletal conditions including cerebral palsy, torticollis, developmental delay, toe-walking, spina bifida, and down syndrome. She loves getting to empower children and their families and helping them achieve their goals. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, and baking.

Savannah L.

Savannah received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 2021 for Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise. She then graduated from University of Lynchburg’s DPT program in 2024. Savannah has recently joined the PAT Kids team! She had the opportunity to complete an outpatient pediatric clinical internship to gain experience before finishing her DPT degree. Savannah also completed a clinical rotation at an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility to broaden her understanding and experience with children and neurological impairments. Her passion for working with children and physical therapy comes from the positive impact of achieving developmental skills and motor milestones that can be seen firsthand within the clinic.

Laina T.

Hi, I’m Laina! I have been working as a physical therapist since 2019.  I graduated from The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health in 2016 and Nova Southeastern University with a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2019. I enjoy working with children and adolescents with orthopedic, neurologic, and developmental abilities to achieve goals. The variety of patient populations I have worked with include: torticollis, delayed walking, gross motor delays, genetics and neurological diagnoses. I enjoy being able to be a part of the child’s development and working in a multidisciplinary environment. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, tennis, and spending time outdoors. People would describe me as patient and empathetic which helps me provide a supportive environment for children to achieve their goals.

Penny

Penny has been serving as a certified therapy dog at PAT since the beginning for 2023. She has been working hard since she was 11 months old to become the very best therapy dog. She has both her Canine Good Citizen certificate as well as her therapy dog certification. She loves being able to use all of her skills and training to help out during therapy sessions with all the kiddos. She is so excited to meet you all!

Sarah M.

Sarah graduated from High Point University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science, and continued on at High Point University to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She had the opportunity to complete an outpatient pediatric clinical internship with Propel Pediatric Therapy to gain more pediatric therapy experience before completing her schooling. Sarah also completed clinical rotations with neurological patients giving her a deeper understanding of various conditions. She has always enjoyed working with children and found a passion in physical therapy after spending a week working alongside physical therapists on a mission trip in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Emily C.

Emily is a graduate of High Point University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has always had a passion for pediatrics which was inspired by her time in physical therapy as a child. She has experience working with children of various orthopedic, neurological, and developmental abilities.

Emily has lived in North Carolina her entire life and currently resides in Greensboro with her fiancé and 4-legged, furry child. She enjoys leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

Rachel T.

Rachel has been with PAT since March 2021 after graduating from Wingate University in 2020. She completed 2 pediatric rotations while at Wingate University and fell in love working with the pediatric population and utilizing child-led play, having worked with a variety of patient populations including: torticollis, toe walkers, delayed walking, gross motor delay, and neurological diagnoses. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys drawing/painting, playing soccer, and hanging out with her fiancé and 2 dogs.

Ruth L.

Dr. LaRoche graduated from the University of St Augustine in 2007 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. After graduation, Ruth moved to Charlotte and started working as a pediatric physical therapist in the home health setting. She has extensive experience in the treatment of children in early intervention, children with complex medical diagnoses, and adaptive equipment prescription. Ruth has experience with ordering specialized equipment including orthotics, wheelchairs and gait trainers, and performing home modification evaluations. Ruth has completed a variety of continuing education courses including pediatric kinesiotaping, durable medical equipment prescription, care and treatment of premature babies and their families, the neonatal ribcage, and management of spasticity in cerebral palsy. Ruth completed her training to become a certified clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association in 2015. Ruth enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and playing with her daughters.

Mackenzie N.

Mackenzie graduated from Elon University’s DPT program in 2015 and has loved treating the pediatric population ever since!  Mackenzie has completed continuing education in areas including pediatric NDT, toe walking, breathing and postural control, and postural restoration. Ever since having her own kids, she has become most passionate about treating infants from birth through walking. She has taken extensive coursework to provide the most updated treatments for Torticollis, Plagiocephaly/Brachycephaly, and developmental delay. She has specialized training for this population in the areas of manual therapy, airway and breathing, tethered oral tissues, and NDT. Outside of work Mackenzie enjoys cooking, and anything outdoors, with her husband and kids.
